Curator narration for this scene.
The Kerkruïne is the foundation walls of the old Ens church on the south point of Schokland. The walls above ground were taken down by 1821, and the 2002 work conserved the foundations rather than rebuilding a church. No tower stands. It is overcast, about 10.7°C, with wind near 6.1 km/h and cloud cover about 100%. This is polder grass and trees, not the sea. The Middelbuurt church and the keeper's house are other scenes and are not in this frame. Lettering on the memorial stone is not readable.
Every Jason D’s Vision image is an AI-generated artistic interpretation of a real place — original artwork, not a photograph. The label bar on the download may show a creative daylight scenario; that is artistic staging, not a record of a real event.
